AWS shows multi-agent radiology workflow orchestrator

Historical record This story connects to a documented entry in the Agentic History timeline. MCP is increasingly used as the interface layer for tool access; AWS describes routing tool requests via an MCP Server within its agent runtime.

AWS described building radiology workflow optimization using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and the Strands Agents SDK. AWS said the work targets limitations of rigid, rule-based worklists.

AWS said agents can evaluate factors including radiologist specialization, workload, fatigue patterns, case complexity, urgency, and availability to make assignments. AWS said tools can be exposed through an MCP server in the AgentCore runtime, including access to clinical APIs, schedules, and imaging systems.

AWS said Radiology Partners is partnering with AWS to adopt agentic AI for workflow optimization.
