Meta layoffs underscore companywide AI shift

CNBC reported that Meta is reducing its workforce by about 10%, or around 8,000 jobs, while increasing its investment in artificial intelligence.

The report said Meta also scrapped plans to fill 6,000 open roles. It described the cuts as part of a broader company shift as Meta increases AI spending and reorganizes work around AI priorities.
