TechCrunch explains Google Search “information agents”

TechCrunch detailed Google’s new Search “information agents” announced at I/O 2026. TechCrunch said they are user-created agents that operate continuously in the background and proactively alert users.

TechCrunch reported users create them in Search’s AI Mode with prompts, gave an example of updates on nearby movie tickets, and said users receive push notifications. TechCrunch said users can manage tracked topics in AI Mode history.

TechCrunch reported information agents will be available this summer, initially for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the U.S.
